Dakota Electric customers donate $26,025 to needyFARMINGTON , Minn. (February 20, 2008) Dakota Electric Association distributed a total of $26,025 in 2007 to local energy assistance agencies through its Helping Neighbors ® program. The money was distributed in quarterly grants to the Community Action Council, the Community Action Program (CAP) and The Salvation Army.
Dakota Electric's Helping Neighbors is an on-going program established by the Helping Neighbors Trust. Since its inception in 1993, the Helping Neighbors program has donated $319,668 to assist people in need. Dakota Electric members interested in participating in the Helping Neighbors program have the option of making monthly contributions or a one-time donation. Contributions are tax deductible.
