Protection from utility scammers

To protect yourself from scammers posing as utility workers, use the following suggestions.

• Ask for an identification card. All Dakota Electric employees and Dakota Electric contractors carry company-issued cards.
• Pay close attention to the individual's clothing and vehicle. Dakota Electric employees wear clothing and drive vehicles with Dakota Electric's logo.
• If an individual does not have an identification card or is not wearing clothing or driving a vehicle with a logo, call 651-463-6183 to verify that the individual is a Dakota Electric employee or contractor.
