Dakota Electric Association supports educational programs for students of all ages.

• Interested groups can learn about power line safety from a former powerline specialist, at your site or ours.

• The "Play It Safe Around Electricity" program provides students with some valuable electrical safety rules and includes facts about energy conservation and electrical generation.

• Each year Dakota Electric awards scholarships to area high school and college students. 

• Dakota Electric Association sponsors a trip to Washington, D.C. for five high school students in June, as part of the National Rural Electric Association annual Washington D.C. Youth Tour.

• Dakota Electric donates McGruff Safe Kids Identification Kits to local police stations for didtribution to kindergarten students.

• Dakota Electric is a sponsor of Tree Trust, an educational program in our local schools.

• Dakota Electric has its own interactive online Safety Game, featuring Neon Deon and 'Lectric Liz.

• Visit the Touchstone Energy's Kids Zone.
