Increasing Electricity Prices
Our surveys show that members want reliable power and high levels of customer service. We have listened and worked hard over the years to bring you the reliability and service you want. However, the cost to deliver reliable power is increasing, and as a result, the price you pay for electricity is rising.
As summer heat and humidity arrive, three factors will affect your electric bill:
- Summer Rates - Dakota Electric’s summer rates are higher because the wholesale energy we must purchase on your behalf is more expensive
- Increased Energy Use - Higher electricity consumption, primarily for air conditioning
- Rate Increase Approved - Dakota Electric’s general rate increase will take effect with the electricity you use in July
