Safety classes

Dakota Electric offers safety classes and training programs for students, community organizations, construction contractors and emergency response personnel to learn more about staying safe around power lines.

As a cooperative, Dakota Electric has a responsibility to be active in the local community and help keep people safe around electricity. A large part of fulfilling this commitment involves bringing programs to school on safety and the environment and providing resources for teachers and parents who home school.

We also provide programs and resources to help adults learn more about how electric industry and staying safe around electricity.

Check out the S.E.S. Renewable Energy Project

The renewable energy educational project started as an idea in the minds of the School of Environmental Studies students. With the support and direction of staff members, the students worked with Dakota Electric Association, CNH Architects and Apple Valley city officials to build a project that would generate electricity and learning opportunities.

Dakota Electric created a section to help members learn more about the S.E.S. project as well as renewable energy. You can visit the section to learn more about the solar panels, wind turbine and sustainable building that are part of the project and to get directions for visiting the project in person.
