Dakota Electric awards scholarships to local students

Each year Dakota Electric awards scholarship funds to area high school and college students. The funds for the scholarships are generated through unclaimed capital credits and divided among the schools. Area colleges receiving funds are Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount and Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights; area high schools receiving scholarship funding are Apple Valley, Burnsville, Cannon Falls, Eagan, Eastview, Farmington, Hastings, Henry Sibley, Lakeville, Northfield, Randolph, Red Wing, Rosemount, and Simley.

Recipients of these funds are chosen by individual schools and interested students should see their high school guidance counselors for an application.
