Third Party Notification

For landlords and property managers/owners

If electric service is being provided to a tenant at your rental property, Dakota Electric is unable to disclose information about that account to anyone without consent of the tenant.

In an effort to assist you in protecting your property, we provide a Third-Party Notice. This notice will require the consent of your tenant and will need to be completed and returned for every new tenant residing at the rental property.

The form is designed to notify the member and a third party (landlord/property manager) that a disconnection notice has been sent. It will also allow Dakota Electric Association to share information with the third party regarding the account status. The third party is not responsible for payment on the account.

It is our intent to work with you in an effort to avoid a disconnection of electric service. However, the only absolute way to avoid uninterrupted service is to maintain the account in your name and remain current on all invoices.
