Meter Replacement Procedures

1. Replacement of an existing meter on your home

  • Daily – before starting work – all Meter Technicians will be taking their temperature.
  • The Meters will be exchanged by meter reading routes.
  • When the Meter Technician arrives, they will knock on your door and present themselves.
  • They will step back from the door before you answer and let you know why they are there. Personal protective equipment, such as a mask, will be used during the initial introduction.
  • They will then proceed to the meter(s) on the exterior of the home.
    • They will take pictures before and after the installation.
    • They may need to briefly disconnect the power to your home as part of the meter exchange.
    • They will replace the meter(s)
  • Upon completion, a door hanger will be left on your door. They will not knock at this time, but just hang the door hanger and leave.
  • It typically takes 10-15 minutes per location to complete the entire process.

LCR Replacement Procedures

1. Replacement of an existing load control receiver on the exterior of the home

  • When the electrician arrives, they will knock on your door and present themselves.
  • They will step back from the door before you answer and let you know why they are there. Personal protective equipment, such as a mask, will be used during the initial introduction.
  • If the power to your home needs to be briefly turned off, they will inform you at this time.
  • They will then proceed to the load control receiver on the exterior of the home.
    • They will take pictures before and after the installation.
    • They may need to disconnect the power to your home to allow for a safe exchange of the device.
    • They will replace the load control receiver.
  • Upon completion, a door hanger with contact information will be left on your door.
  • It typically takes 15-30 minutes per location to complete the entire process.

2. Installation of a new load control receiver on the exterior of the home

  • When the electrician arrives, they will knock on your door and present themselves.
  • They will step back from the door before you answer and let you know why they are there. Personal protective equipment, such as a mask, will be used during the initial introduction.
  • If the power to your home will need to be briefly turned off, they will inform you at this time.
  • They will then proceed to the exterior of your home where the air conditioner is located.
    • They may need to temporarily disconnect power to your home’s air conditioner in order to allow for a safe install of the device.
    • They will install the load control receiver onto the home near your air conditioner.
  • Upon completion, a door hanger with contact information will be left on your door.
  • It typically takes 15-30 minutes per location to complete the entire process.
