FARMINGTON , Minn. (July 17, 2007) — Dakota Electric Association invites its members to enjoy a complimentary night at the Minnesota Zoo on Thursday, July 26. This marks the tenth year that Dakota Electric will host this annual Member Appreciation Event for its member-owners at the Minnesota Zoo.

Members and their families are invited to attend the Zoo free of charge between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Members will be able to enjoy the newly renovated Minnesota Trail, the Wells Fargo Family Farm, World of Birds Show, Tropics Trail, Discovery Bay, Northern Trail, free Monorail rides and more.

Dakota Valley Summer Pops Orchestra and Chorale will continue its tradition of performing during the appreciation event. Members will receive a discount for movies at the IMAX Theater, and Louie the Lightning Bug, Dakota Electric’s safety mascot, will be on hand to greet children.

Dakota Electric will be giving away $10 Dairy Queen® gift certificates to any member who signs up for Cycled Air Conditioning® at the event. Door prizes will also be awarded. Dakota Electric is asking all members to bring non-perishable food items or a cash donation for the local food shelf.

Members should have received a ticket (which admits the entire family) with their most recent bills, or they may bring a recent bill to gain admittance. The event is held rain or shine and is limited to the first 10,000 members. More details can be found at www.dakotaelectric.com.
