FARMINGTON, Minn. (11:30 p.m., June 19, 2012) — Dakota Electric Association is happy to report that all outages have been restored. A severe thunderstorm ripped through the area early Tuesday morning knocking out power to more than 10,000 Dakota Electric members. The damage was widespread, making outage restoration difficult. All available crews were quickly dispatched to assess the situation and begin power restoration.

Dakota Electric’s wholesale power supplier, Great River Energy, lost multiple poles in two different locations: Apple Valley and the Miesville area. Power has been rerouted through other lines while the downed power lines are rebuilt.

Dakota Electric thanks its members for their patience during the outage. Dakota Electric also thanks Connexus Energy crews for assisting in storm restoration.

If anyone happens to still be out of power, they should call in again: 651-463-6201.
