FARMINGTON, Minn. (10:00 a.m., June 19, 2012) — Dakota Electric Association crews are out in force restoring outages from this morning’s damaging storms. More than 10,000 were without power, but crews have reduced that number to approximately 3,000 still without power at this time. The majority of those 3,000 should be restored by nightfall. But, due to the widespread damage, Dakota Electric is estimating that it may take 24-48 hours to restore everyone. Crews are being called in from other cooperatives to assist in the restoration efforts.

“Our goal is to restore power quickly and safely to everyone,” spokesperson Joe Miller said. “We thank everyone for their patience.”
