Do Not Pet The Green Box

Meet the neighborhood’s most misunderstood box. The big green box, also known as a pad-mounted transformer, may not win any neighborhood beauty contests, but it’s an important piece of equipment that helps deliver electricity to homes and businesses throughout the community. While safe when left alone, it’s not meant for climbing, playing, or exploring. Give it space and leave the power to the pros.

Not A Jungle Gym

Pad-mounted transformers aren’t built for climbing, sitting, or playing. never put hands, sticks, toys, or other objects into any openings.

Dig Smart. Stay Safe.

Underground power lines surround transformers. Before starting any digging project, call 811 to have utilities marked. It’s free and it’s the law.
