Dakota Electric Association and it’s wholesale power supplier, Great River Energy, are helping to present local Twins Youth Clinics this summer in local communities.
The free Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinics are designed to teach basic fundamentals including hitting, fielding and throwing, while also providing participants with positive messages about staying in school and away from drugs and alcohol. The clinics provide quality hands-on instruction for boys and girls ages 6-16.
The clinic is divided into two 1.5 hour sessions. The first session is for boys and girls ages 6-9 years old and the second session is for girls and boys ages 10-16 years old. Participants are divided into three groups and rotated among skill stations. No registration is required to participate in a clinic; just show up on the day of the clinic and be ready to learn and have fun.

The Twins will provide all the equipment; however, youth participants are asked to bring their own baseball or softball gloves. For more information, visit the Twins website.
The current clinic format was developed by Twins General Manager, Terry Ryan, and former Twins executive, Bob Gebhard.
The Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinics instructors have a combined 200+ years of baseball coaching/playing experience. The staff is comprised of former players, coaches, scouts and teachers. Teams of 3-4 instructors will travel to and administer each clinic.
While the 2012 clinics are sponsored by Great River Energy, each community clinic may be hosted by the local electric cooperative or other businesses or organizations in the community.
